Well, I´m finally back, and just in time for summer!

So thank you, Rick Riordan, for having your Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series consume most of my month!

Anyhow, if anything, Riordan´s books put me just in the mood to give Young Adult -YA- books another go!

So this time around my July TBR list is full of YA novels about summer. love and adventure.

Movies to Leap in July! (¡Película para Saltar en Julio!)

Watching or waiting

Well, from what I have gathered, it seems like the whole summer movie season went to April, May, and June; ’cause quite honestly there aren’t that many movies I want to see this month.

So… this time around the list will be pretty short I guess, which after the trip I went on, are actually good news for my wallet, but still!

Anyhow, without further ado, here’s my list.

So… What happened to May? Bookworm Problems 101

Calling my name

I had a list! I swear I had a list! I have, in fact, all my 2018 TBR lists per month done! I mean sure before posting said lists sometimes I have to tweak a couple of things here and there -especially when it turns out, the books I wanted to read that month haven´t been released yet-, but for the most part it´s pretty much done!, so… what happened to the May TBR list? Well…

This happened!

April Movies to Not Fool Yourself! (¡Películas de Abril para que no te engañes!)

Watching or waiting

I think this must be the first time I post this list before any movies of the month come out!

Anyhow if I thought there were lots of movies to watch in March and surprisingly February, that was nothing! Nothing I tell you, compared to how many releases there are this April!

So… once again since money is tighter now than ever, I had to make some difficult choices and therefore here´s my watching or waiting list for the April movies released in Mexico.

Books Showering this April!

Calling my name

So… I´m still one book behind my March TBR list, but April is already here, therefore though I haven´t finished Into The Water yet, here I am once again with my book list of the month.

This time around since in my country we celebrate children´s day this month and they tell me that apparently in the United States they celebrate siblings they this month… well my April TBR list is all about kids and siblings, so… here we go!

Shounen-ai/Yaoi Mangas that Should Definitely be Animes! Pt1.- Asterisk by Morimoto Shuu

Watch list

So, after watching Hitorijime My Hero and writing my thoughts about it, I started to think about the lack of yaoi/shounen-ai animes -especially when compared with the yuri/shoujo ai ones-, as well as how the ones made always seem to go along the same lines.

With the delicate/fragile/kind of airheaded uke, forceful/stoic/kind of a dick seme, one of them always been perfect at housework, the nonconsensual interactions if not right out rape, etc.

Which made me think that maybe just maybe, in order to get this genre more appreciated we need some other type of shounen-ai/yaoi animes?

´Cause there are some good stories out there that not necessarily fall into these tropes and that I think would make awesome animes! And so…, here I am, with my first post on shounen-ai/yaoi mangas that I think should definitely get an anime!

Crazy March! So many Movies to Watch! (¡Marzo Loco!¡Tantas Películas por Ver!)

Watching or waiting

Ok, technically speaking some of this movies have already premiered, but since I still haven´t watched any of them, I figured I was still in time.

Anyhow this month, there are also so many movies I want to watch! But unfortunately… money, still an issue. So, once again here´s my list of the movies I´d definitely watch asap at the cinema and those which… we´ll see.

Continue reading “Crazy March! So many Movies to Watch! (¡Marzo Loco!¡Tantas Películas por Ver!)”

March Books to Welcome Spring!

Calling my name

So… once again I´m a little late with my TBR list for March, as well as my February book reviews -and I was doing so well!-, but in my defense, well… I got nothing, I mean sure, I´ve been a little busy but in reality, I´ve just been catching up on some series and animes.

Anyhow, back to the list, since in March we basically celebrate the International Woman´s Day, Water Day and Poetry Day?; and I usually like to have a theme, it shouldn´t be a surprise that I tried to find books related in some way to this celebrations.

Therefore…, with nothing else to say, here we go:

What the Quiznak?.- Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 5 Review

Tvies

voltron-legendary-defender-1-e14549694407951Awesome action, warfare, family, politics, feels! and freaking cliffhangers!
Those are the words that I´d use to describe Voltron: Legendary Defender -VLD- Season 5, which just premiered this Friday.

As you might remember, not too long ago I finally decided to give VLD a go, and I absolutely loved it!, so I was more than thrilled when I saw that Season 5 would premiere on March 2nd.

Now reasons for loving Voltron I´ve got plenty, just as I mentioned in my previous post, but… Did season 5 live up to the hype? Well…, the short answer is yes! It totally did! And here is why:

Why not?

Why Voltron Legendary Defender is more than a Kids Show

Why not

voltron-legendary-defender-1-e14549694407951You know what´s the best thing about getting into a series late on? Particularly a Netflix one?
Not having to wait months for a new season!

So…, yeah basically a month ago, I finally decided to make use of my Netflix subscription and watch some of the Netflix show that I have been meaning to watch but for some reason, I haven´t, and… among them there was Voltron!

So… yeah, at the beginning I was a little unsure ´cause while I have been a huge fan of “kids series” like Phineas & Ferb, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Gravity Falls, Miraculous Lady Bug, etc., there have been some others that… have made me wonder what the heck are kids watching and learning these days -and man does that make me feel old-.

But in the end… watching the promo and learning that some of the creative team behind The Legend of Korra were also behind these series… well I had to give a chance.

And I´m actually glad I did! I won´t say that Voltron Legendary DefendersVLD– is the best-animated series out there, ´cause there are plenty of awesome series and it does start kind of slow, but what I will say without doubt is that the series does have a lot of attention to detail, it´s really well written, has awesome animation, heart and doesn´t dumb things down.
