Book Valentine! Books to Read in February

Calling my name

heart-792179_1920Love, love, love! February is finally here! and there´s no bigger sign than all the hearts, chocolates and flowers being sell everywhere!

I´m usually not a fan of Valentine´s Day, but this year I´m trying new things -like baking Valentines Day cookies! I´ll try to post about it-, and last year I enjoyed the books I chose to read so… why not give it another go, right?

Anyhow, that´s why this month´s books are all about love and friendship, so… without anything else to say here we go!

Random Fridays is a weekly meme originally hosted and created by Rebeca at “Books and Messy Buns”, that anyone can join.

Since her blog has gone through some changes and I really liked her weekly memes, I asked for her permission to continue with them and here we are.

Anyhow to participate you just have to do the following:

  • Pick up the book you’re currently reading (or read last)
  • Go to this random number generator and insert the total amount of pages in your book.
  • Generate a random number.
  • Open your book on the page with number you got
  • Repeat step 2 and 3 but with the number of lines on that page.
  • Your random sentence is the first sentence in the line with the number you got (it doesn’t matter if the sentence starts a few lines before)

Note: Please refer the creator of the meme and the host (this blog/this post) in your own post and leave a comment down below with a link to your RF so all the participant can have a look and share their thoughts too!

My Random Sentence:

Just as she got to the bottom of the stairs, Mouchard -drawn by the noisy echo of Belle´s boots on the steps- came hurrying into the foyer.

Movies to Start the Year! (¡Películas para Empezar el Año!)

Watching or waiting

January sucks! I mean my birthday is in January and I like the weather and all, but as far as movie releases go -at least in my country-, it´s the worst month.

And what´s worse, is that I have 2×1 all month, and… no movies to watch, so I thought about skipping this but… in the end decided to give it a go, so here we are.

¡Enero apesta!

New Year, New Beginnings, and New Book List to Read!

Calling my name

colaj-manele-despre-viata-2017-octombrieI know, I know, it´s late, but in my defense, I did make some post before the year began, and I´m almost finished with my first pick of the year so…

Anyhow, this time last year, I made my book list of the month to start the year on a good -or at least interesting- note, and this time around is no different, except that I´m hoping to start it with optimism. Which is why my January picks are all about winter wonder, magic, and fluffy feelings -with maybe an exception-.

So…, without further ado, here we go!

September Books to fight of the Routine!

Calling my name

280924-books-vintage-old-748x468I know, I know. I totally missed my August and July lists and it´s been a really long time since I last wrote in this blog, but… since things in my life are finally calming down a little bit, I´m finally back!

Anyhow, this time around I intended for my list to be shorter, ´cause I finally got Always and Forever Lara Jean by the author Jenny Han and so… I decided that a re-reading of the 2 previous books in the To All The Boys I loved Before series was in order! Especially with the movie coming! -More on that in a later post I think-

But in the end… I got so invested in trying to fight off my grown up routine that, as always I ended with a longer list than intended, any way to fight of the routine as I mentioned, this month is all about Independence, Magic, Fantasy, and Survival!

So… in no particular order, here it goes:

Movies to Say bye To the Summer (Películas para Despedir el Verano)

Watching or waiting

Time really flies when you’re having fun, or when you´re so busy that you can´t do any of the things you like. But.. anyhow be it whatever the case it is, there´s an irrefutable truth, summer is over.

For some of us, this means nothing, since we don´t have vacations anyway, but for some others, the end of summer means going back to school or work. So… in order to hopefully make this transition easier on myself -after all, kids going back to class means more traffic for me and waking up earlier-, here´s my list of the movies that I definitely don´t want to miss this August and some that… I´m still thinking about.

Note: As always, since I live in Mexico, this list only has the Mexican release date, so you have been warned

Descendants 2,- Those you Leave Behind

Tvies

1I pretty much started this blog with a Descendants review, so I guess it makes sense that I´d finally return to it after watching Descendants 2, which premiered via Disney Channel pretty much 2 weeks ago.

So… as some of you might know, I´m a big Disney fan -which includes the Disney Channel-, so I usually watch all the of its DCOMs –Disney Channel Original Movies– more than once, and while I have liked some other movies that have come out since Descendants –Invisible Sister, The Swap– I have to admit that Descendants was still my favorite.

Therefore you can imagine how anxious I was to watch the promised sequel, especially when the heists were so high, ´cause sequels always have it difficult, since they not only have to live up to the hype of the previous movie but also ideally do better.

So… How did Descendants 2 do?

Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 11 “Mea Maxima Culpa”.- And so… It Begins!

Now

shadowhunters-season-2-trailer-premieres-on-january-2-at-8pm-7cShadowhunters is finally back! Yeah, I´m actually excited about this show coming back and as you might know, I wasn´t a fan when it began, but! The mid-season finale really got to me and managed to raise my expectations, and so… here I am.

Anyhow the Season 2B premiere had the monumental task of connecting season´s A overall arch to this one´s, all the while maintaining the urgency feeling and not lowering the quality Shadowhunters has managed to rise -in fact, I would have to say that the big task for this half of the season is to raise it even more!-

So… how did the summer premiere do? Well, I´m here, no? -late, but here- So that should give you a hint, therefore here we go:

April´s Fool and not Fooling Movies (Peliculas para Bromear y no Bromear en Abril)

Watching or waiting

Surprisingly, there are not that many movies I wish to watch in April, I mean May had plenty but surprisingly enough, even though April is supposed to be closer to the blockbuster movie summer, nope, there are not that many movies that I wish to watch, which in hindsides is something good, ´cause I´m definitely going to need that money come May.

Anyhow, last month I manage to watch in the cinema almost all of the movies I wanted -with the exception of Power Rangers because of several reasons that I´ll discuss later on- so… this month, I should able to manage it, right?

Anyhow, on to the list:

De cualquier modo, a la lista:

Books Pouring Down On Me

Calling my name

Once again I´m late with my reading list -this is starting to be the norm now-, but at least I have already finished the first of my  April picks so…. not everything is lost, right?

books-rain-window-favim-com-3591441Anyway last month I was able to read almost all of my March picks -I didn´t read my Spanish book pick-, so let’s hope this month I can do at least as good if not better than March.

So…. for this month the books, I also tried to choose books that had something to do with the things celebrated in April -which were surprisingly plenty- such as kid´s day, book´s day and Gabriel García Márquez -a Colombian journalist, writer, etc.- birthday.

Anyhow, without any further ado, to the list:
