September Books to fight of the Routine!

Calling my name

280924-books-vintage-old-748x468I know, I know. I totally missed my August and July lists and it´s been a really long time since I last wrote in this blog, but… since things in my life are finally calming down a little bit, I´m finally back!

Anyhow, this time around I intended for my list to be shorter, ´cause I finally got Always and Forever Lara Jean by the author Jenny Han and so… I decided that a re-reading of the 2 previous books in the To All The Boys I loved Before series was in order! Especially with the movie coming! -More on that in a later post I think-

But in the end… I got so invested in trying to fight off my grown up routine that, as always I ended with a longer list than intended, any way to fight of the routine as I mentioned, this month is all about Independence, Magic, Fantasy, and Survival!

So… in no particular order, here it goes:

Goodbye Rudy Kazoody by A.A. Freda

Loved it-hated it

Who the heck is Rudy Kazoody?!

We might never know, the world might never know, and you know what…, that´s alright, ´cause in the end, like Spike -one of, if not the main character of the book- points out it doesn´t really matter-, what really matters here is the journey and the things that the things that you learn through it.

Movies to Kickoff the Summer (Películas para dar Inicio al Verano)

Watching or waiting

Summer is here! Well… partially ´cause we´re not on vacations or at least not in Mexico -and I don´t have vacations anyway-, but technically speaking Summer has just begun and with it the summer blockbuster movie season -or at least that´s how it’s supposed to go-

Anyhow, this month at least, there are more than 2 movies that I really want to watch, and some others that… I´m still thinking about.

En fin, este mes por lo menos hay más de 2 películas que realmente quiero ver, y otras que… aún estoy contemplando.

And as always just a friendly reminder that this since I live in Mexico, this is the Mexican release schedule, so… with nothing else to address, on to the list:

Y como siempre, solo les recuerdo amigablemente que como vivo en México, esta es la cartelera Mexicana con sus fechas, en fin…, sin nada más que decir, a la lista:

Summer Loving Books

Calling my name

It´s been a really long time since I last wrote anything on this blog, so long that honestly, I don´t know if there´s still people reading it or are interested in it, but be it there or not I´m finally back!

summer-reading-part-twoAnyhow, reasons for not having written anything I got plenty – work, health, trips, etc.-, but if I´m really honest with myself it really has to do with my lack of organization skills -I´m still working on that!-, but the point is that I´m finally back and ready to quick off the summer with some fun, loving and maybe one and other mystery.

So…. here are my book picks for June!

Why The Good Place Totally Deserves The Season 2 Order

TV

Last fall I made a list of all the shows that I wanted to see in 2016-2017, ´cause back then it was my intention to not only watch all of them but also review some. Needless to say that real life had other plans and now I can barely keep with all the things I want to read, watch and write, but… anyway.

goodplace-keyart-responsiveAnyway between all of these new shows, there was a little NBC comedy wich only had a 13 episode order this season and had Kristen Bell as it´s protagonist.

Now I´m not a big Kristen Bell fan, I mean I know she did Ana´s voice in Frozen -I think-  and that she was the lead on the fan favorite series Veronica Mars -which for some reason I never got to watch-, so… quite frankly the only reason why I decided to watch the series was because the trailer sold it to me.

But I could have never imagined that The Good Place -the show mentioned- would become one of my favorites, my favorite comedy -so far-, and the one show that I couldn´t miss at all!

Reasons to love The Good Place I´ve got plenty, ´cause yes, it´s just that good; but since this is already turning out to be a long post, I decided to just enlist some of the reasons why this is such a forking awesome show.

Books to be My Valentine

Calling my name

8908081eae330583c43629481bd0b107Yes, I know. We´re basically halfway through February, and I´m just posting my book picks of the month; but since today is Valentine´s, I figured it was a good day as any to post the books that I intended to read this month.

Last month, ´cause I knew I wouldn´t have that much time, I planned on reading only 3 books -I think-, but in the end, even that turned out to be too many, since Middlemarch turned out to be a way more difficult read than expected.

Anyway, this month, I´m back to making things difficult for myself, since I have 4 books listed, and I´m still reading the first one -there are so many things to do!-, so… let´s see how things turn around this month.

Here are my Valentine´s Day book picks:

Books to Star the Year Anew

Calling my name

favim-com-alinajanuary-book-clock-letters-lights-339792I´m a little late to this post due to the fact that I got a little behind with my Christmas reads -I just finished Navidad en las Montañas yesterday- and that my book club just decided yesterday in which book we are going to read this month.

Anyhow, like I´m making a habit of, for January I decided to read books that had to do with the New Year or at least talk about new beginnings, changing your life, etc. -with the exception of the book for the book club I´m in-.

So…, doing this actually turned more difficult than the two previous ones ´cause 1) I originally intended for all of the books to be about the New Years -and I could find that many in such a short notice-, and 2) I didn´t take into consideration that one of the books I listed -and already began- it´s longer than expected, so… I had to eliminate another book if I wanted to read the one listed on the book club -and one of my unspoken New Year´s resolutions is to read more of the books chosen there-.

And that´s pretty much it, so with nothing else to say, here´s my list:
